Some of the tourists sites in Sichuan have discounts and free admission for visitors.
With the coming of winter, some scenic spots in Sichuan province have announced the slack season policies for visitors, including discounts and free admission.
Starting on November 16, many tourist attractions in western Sichuan offer visitors special discounts and free admission for the winter season.
Discounts:
1. Hailuogou
Hailuogou is a national Glacier Forest Park on the eastern side of Gonggar Mountain in the Luding County of Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Garze, Sichuan Province. The park has abundance of geographical attractions including ancient glaciers, virgin forests, hot springs, wild animals, and many more.
Off-season rates: before Mar. 31, 2020; RMB11 for admission(1,000 tickets limitation every day)
How to get there:
Bus: regular bus service available at Xinnanmen Bus Station (新南门汽车站) in Chengdu. The ticket price is RMB115/person.
2. Huanglong National Park

Huanglong National Park is located in the northwestern Sichuan Province, known for its unique landscapes and crystal lakes.
Huanglong means Yellow Dragon in Chinese. Seen from afar, Huanglong's landscape looks like a golden dragon across the valley.
Listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1992, Huanglong is famous for its colorful lakes formed by calcite deposits, diverse forest ecosystems, snow-capped peaks, waterfalls, hot springs and friendly environment for endangered animals.
Off-season rates: Dec. 16-May 31; RMB60 for admission (closing at 17:30)
How to get there:
Bus: regular bus service at Chadianzi Bus Station (茶店子汽车站) from Chengdu to Songpan County and you can transfer a taxi to the site. The ticket price is about RMB109/person.
3. Jiuzhaigou
A UNESCO's World Natural Heritage, Jiuzhaigou is located in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in northwestern Sichuan, about 540 km from Chengdu. The scenic spot is famed for its natural beauty and biodiversity.
In winter, Jiuzhaigou is a fairy-tale world that features lakes with blue water, frozen waterfalls and snow-dressed forests.
Off-season rates: Nov.16-Mar. 31; RMB80 for admission, RMB80 for sight-seeing bus
How to get there:
Bus: regular bus service from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou is available at Chadianzi Bus Station (茶店子汽车站), Xinnanmen Bus Station (新南门汽车站) and East Station Bus Station (东站汽车站). The ticket price is about RMB157/person. A bus travel from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou usually takes about 10 hours, but it offers you an opportunity to see the amazing views along the route.
Tips: get well-prepared for possible altitude sickness, considering the high elevation of the spot
4. Mugecuo Scenic Spot in Kangding County

Part of the Gongga Mountains scenic area, Mugecuo is about 320 km from Chengdu.
With an elevation of 2, 900-3, 800 meters, it is the largest alpine lake in the northwest of Sichuan.
The Mugecuo in winter looks like an immense mirror under the blue sky, and its neighboring area is a pure, quiet land of ice and snow.
Off-season rates: Dec.1-Mar. 31; RMB165 for admission (sightseeing bus fare included)
How to get there:
Bus: regular bus service from Chengdu to Kangding is available at Chadianzi Bus Station (茶店子汽车站), Xinnanmen Bus Station (新南门汽车站) and East Station Bus Station (东站汽车站) in Chengdu. The ticket price is about RMB116/person. Then take a taxi or do a car-pooling to the scenic spot.
5. Mt. Siguniang (literally "Four Girls Mountains" or "Four Sisters Mountains") Scenic Spot
Mt. Siguniang is in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, 220 km from Chengdu. Listed in the National Scenic Areas and the National Nature Reserves, the scenic spot consists of a series of high mountains and valleys of natural beauty and makes itself a mecca for mountain climbers in China.
Off-season rates: Dec 1-Mar. 31; RMB50 or less for admissions to major sites of the spot
How to get there:
Bus: There are three dispatches every day at Chadianzi Bus Station (茶店子汽车站) from Chengdu to Xiaojin County and you can get off the bus at the Siguniang Mountain Township Station in advance. The ticket price is about RMB95/person.
Tips: The average temperature is below the freezing point in winter and be sure to wear warm clothing and have a hat and sunglasses
