Camellia trees begin flowering profusely from November to May, but the best time to view the blossoms is in mid and late March. Camellia, traditionally regarded as one of the top ten famous flowers in China, is valued for its big blossoms with varied colors, ever-green leaves and elegant form. The Tiantai Mountain boasts the largest camellia plantation in western China and is home to tens of thousands camellia trees.

How to get there:
The Xinnanmen Tourist Distribution Center in downtown Chengdu offers shuttle bus (8:00, 9:30) service directly to the Taintai Mountain Scenic Spot.
