A meet of giant pandas Reganmian and Danhonggao and Sichuan Medical Team who went to fight COVID-19 in Hubei Province was held in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (the Panda Base) on Jun.5.
The Panda Base, together with the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College Nuclear Industry 416 Hospital, held an event on June 5 for the giant pandas Reganmian (which means a snack in Wuhan) and Danhonggao (a snack in Chengdu) for and Sichuan Medical Team, who went to Wuhan to fight COVID-19.
"The is one of the events, themed on giant panda, held to thank the Medical Team for their dedication to fight COVID-19," said an official from the Panda Base, "Although both of the two pandas were adopted by the Medical Team on Apr. 17, they were watched by the members of the Medical Team only via internet, because the members were quarantined or busy with working. So today is their first time to see the pandas on site."
And "the day for parents from the Medical Team and their kids in the Panda Base" took place in its Chengdu Field Research Center for Giant Pandas — "Panda Valley" on May 30, when both the parents and kids watched lovely giant pandas and red pandas.
Besides, the participants of the event received tailored "panda passports", which means they can visit the Panda Base for free anytime.
