On October 25, a marathon relay was launched at the foot of the Mount Qingcheng.

Covering a distance totaling 42.3 kilometers, the journey was from the front gate of the Mount Qingcheng, by way of the panda valley and Dujiangyan Middle School.
The event attracted 1,112 runners. “With picturesque scenery and fresh air, the Mount Qingcheng is a perfect place for the event,” said a participant.
An official from the organizing committee revealed that this year’s event is aimed to integrate the local tourist resources and sports match. Taking it as a warm-up, the committee is making preparations for the 2015 competition. “We plan to extend the running route to the famous Fish Mouth (Yuzui) of the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a water-dividing dam, in a bid to let runners better enjoy the world cultural and natural heritage while they are running,” the official added.
