Chengdu, Maputo Establish Friendly Cooperative Ties

On November 7 (local lime), Yu Wei, Director of the Standing Committee of the Chengdu Municipal People’s Congress, met Mr. David Simango, Mayor of Maputo, Mozambique, during his visit to the city.
The two sides exchanged views on establishing friendly and cooperative ties, and potential exchange and cooperation in different areas.
Yu expressed his hope for further communication and exchange in business and trade, culture, tourism, infrastructure construction and agriculture, and a sister-city relationship between the two cities in the future. He also invited Maputo to hold investment and tourism promotion events in Chengdu and welcomed the city to the 2017 Innovation Forum for Mayors of International Sister Cities of Chengdu.
On behalf of his city, Mr. Simango welcomed Chengdu companies to invest in Maputo. He said he would lead government and business delegations to visit Chengdu and promote pragmatic mutual cooperation between the two cities. After the meeting, Yu and Mr. Simango signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing a friendly and cooperative tie between Chengdu and Maputo.
