Chendu's Wenjiang holds international SeNA summit-GoChengdu

An international SeNA summit, organized by the Chengdu’s Wenjiang District Government and the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, opened July 17 in the city.

Over 300 domestic and international academics shared their latest researches on genetic science and technology, biological medicine, stoichiology (the study of animal tissue at a cellular level) and SeNA (selenium nucleic acid) studies.

A team led by Ms. Ada Yonath, winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Wenjiang Government to establish a SeNA Nobel innovation center at the Sichuan University.

The center will focus on SeNA research and the production of domestic and international SeNA projects. It will also serve as an international research and training facility, contributing to the further development of the Chengdu Medical City.

The Chengdu Medical City is now home to 42 key biomedicine laboratories, 43 research and development centers, and more than 300 key biological medicine enterprises.
