Singaporean delegation seeked opportunities to deepen Sino-Singaporean cooperation during a visit to Chengdu.
A Singaporean delegation, led by Gan Teng Kiat, the new consul-general of Singapore in Chengdu, paid a working visit to Chengdu from Jan 11 to 13, seeking opportunities to deepen Sino-Singaporean cooperation.
Huang Xinchu, Chengdu Party Committee Secretary, received the guests. He said at the meeting that Chengdu is an important pivot in cooperation between Singapore and China, especially China's central and western regions, thanks to its location, good investment environment, leading position in economic development and rich cooperation experience with Singapore in finance, logistics trade and tourism.
Gan Teng Kiat expressed a firm desire to further strengthen relations between Singapore and Chengdu. He said that Singapore investment in Chengdu had yielded impressive results in recent years. Singapore is more than willing to find more cooperative opportunities and promote mutual improvement.
At the meeting, four Singaporean enterprises including Singapore Technologies Engineering, and Singapore Airport Terminal Service Group gave brief descriptions about the development of their projects in Chengdu and gave advice on how to deepen the mutual cooperation.
