According to a provincial conference on the economic performance of Sichuan’s travel industry in this year’s first half, held on August 1, Chengdu welcomed more than 93.83 million inbound tourists during the past six months, up by 5.20 percent year on year, with a total revenue of roughly RMB12.95 million from the travel sector.
In the half year, Chengdu's number of multifunctional attractions involving agritourism, culture, as well as health and wellness was on a steady rise.
And the city saw a growing market in the dining and hospitality sectors and show business in the past half year, with about 9.87 million travelers staying in 131 registered hotels, 8.32 percent higher than that of the same period of a year ago.
