As of June 17, Xinzhu Corporation signed an agreement with the Siemens AG on the manufacturing of modern tram cars and co-establishment of a technical center.

As of June 17, the government of Xinjin County revealed that Chengdu Xinzhu Road & Bridge Machinery Co., Ltd. (Xinzhu Corporation), which is located in Xinjin County in southern Chengdu, signed an agreement with the Siemens AG on the manufacturing of modern tram cars and co-establishment of a technical center for R&D of the electrical system’s integration technology and related products.
According to Xinzhu Corporation, 17 trams manufactured by it have gone through comprehensive testing and are scheduled to roll off of the production line next year.
An official from Xinjin County said that 32 enterprises involving the rail transit industry have by far settled in the county. Last year, the gross industrial output value of Xinjin’s rail transit industry reached about RMB6.2 billion (approx.US$133 million), accounting for 20.6% of the whole county’s gross industrial output value.
