Chengdu Motor Show 2014 Kicks off

The largest-scale and highest-level Chengdu Motor Show 2014 was open on August 30 at the Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Center in southern Chengdu.
Covering an area of 150,000 square meters, the 10-day event occupies all the 9 indoor halls and outdoor areas of the center, attracting 102 auto brands from home and abroad.
During the event, which is one of the main four motor shows in China, 20 new models of cars will debut, 38 new models will be put into market, and this year’s newest concept cars and new energy vehicles will be unveiled.

Volvo: New plant shows confidence in Chengdu

Despite growing competition in the automotive market, Volvo is confident about its development in China, said Lars Danielson, senior vicepresident for China operations.Danielson said Chengdu, where the carmaker has its first China plant, is“very important.”
