Chengdu-Mauritius Direct Flight Inaugurated

Non-stop flight from Chengdu to Mauritius, the first direct air service between central and western China and Africa, was launched on July 7.

The flight has a flying time about 10 hours, the shortest route linking the Chinese mainland and Africa.

The flight is operated by the airbus A340-300 aircraft and is scheduled to depart from Chengdu every Tuesday and arrive in Mauritius the following day. It leaves Chengdu at 23:30 Beijing time and arrives in Mauritius the following day at 5:35 local time; the return flight leaves Mauritius at 16:00 local time and arrives in Chengdu the following day at 6:15 Beijing time.

Chengdu-Sri Lanka Direct Flight Opens

The direct air service from Chengdu to Colombo, capital of Sri Lanka, will launch its maiden flight at 18:30 on February 10.

An Airbus A330, flight number 3U609, completed the first direct flight from Chengdu to Moscow and landed in Moscow on the evening of May 2 with 289 passengers onboard after an over-8-hour journey.

UA to Start Daily Flight between Chengdu and San Francisco

The United Airlines (UA) announced on May 14 that it will increase flights for the Chengdu-San Francisco direct flight from the present three flights a week to daily flight during the period from June 6 to September 1.
