Chengdu citizens can now apply for visas to Denmark, a Nordic country dubbed by Chinese people as the Kingdom of Fairy Tales, in the city.
As one of the five visa application centers just launched by Denmark in the Chinese mainland, the one in Chengdu became operational and began to accept applications on April 19th. Two days later, the Embassy of Denmark in China, Consulate-General of Denmark in Chongqing and Scandinavia Tourist Board jointly convened an inauguration ceremony for the center and a conference to promote Denmark's tourist industry.
"We are delighted to announce the opening of the Denmark Visa Application Center in Chengdu." According to Anja Villefrance, Consul General of Denmark at Royal Danish Consulate General in Chongqing, Denmark just opened 5 visa application centers in Chengdu, Hangzhou, Jinan, Nanjing and Shenyang in April. Before that, Chinese citizens could apply for visas to Denmark only in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing. "The opening of the Chengdu center will benefit Chengdu citizens who plan to go to Denmark, and further the friendly exchange between Denmark and Sichuan.”
