Nearly 1,000 children and parents participated in McHappy Run in Chengdu on September 13.
A charitable running event McHappy Run, themed "Run for Love", was held in Xicun Dayuan Compound (West Village Courtyard) in the west of downtown Chengdu on September 13.
Nearly 1,000 children and parents from over 330 families participated in the event organized by McDonald's China, which is aimed to raise funds for the first Ronald McDonald House in China.
Besides Chengdu, other 12 cities in China including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Changsha, Dalian, Shenyang and Jinan, are also involved in the McHappy Run event.
The first Ronald McDonald House in the Chinese mainland will be put into service in Changsha, Hunan Province, at the end of 2015, according to McDonald‘s China. The Ronald McDonald House is a global program that aims to provide housing for families of sick children. Currently, there are 337 Ronald McDonald Houses worldwide, with the largest in Chicago.
