Jinsha Site Museum
The 2017 Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival to kick off on Jan. 23 at Jinsha Site Museum features the civilizations of ancient Egypt and ancient Kingdom of Shu (almost 3,000-5,000 years ago). Over 40 groups of large lanterns, four groups of 15-meter-high super-sized lanterns and more than 3,000 decorated trees covering an area of 4,000 square meters will show a fabulous world of lights to visitors.
The Jinsha flower fair, one of the highlights during the festival, will showcase over 10 varieties of flowers covering an area of about 2,000 square meters, such as hyacinth, tulip, Rieger begonia and pansy. A "Nile" made from flowers will " run" through the venue for the fair with a boat-shaped stage beside it. A "pyramid" complex formed by flower sculptures and camel-shaped lanterns in the flower sea will bring visitors back to the ancient Egypt.
During the Event, traditional local food and Egyptian style food will be sold at a dining area. 282 performances will be given at the main stage and other parts in the venue, where visitors can have opportunities to meet face to face performers wearing ancient Egyptian and Shu-style costumes.
